Appointed as Managing Director in 2006. Steven has 25 years' experience in international tax planning and the structuring of international collective investment funds. He has also advised international financial services groups on the location, establishment and regulation of holding companies and collective investment undertakings.

Alan Butler
Chief Financial Officer
Appointed as Finance Director in 2006. Alan is an accountant with over 10 years' experience in the audit profession and approximately 30 years in financial and general management at a senior level in multi-company, multi-jurisdictional organisations. He has led in areas that include facilities management, ICT systems, corporate structuring, group accounting and financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, treasury, financing and cash management.

Veit Schuhen
Chief Operating Officer
Veit is Maitland's COO and oversees all business areas. He has a strong pedigree of leadership positions in private banking and investment funds. He joined Maitland in 2006 from Citibank (Switzerland) where as CEO he was responsible for all of Citibank's Swiss banking operations as well as Citigroup's Swiss client base.
Prior to this, he worked for Julius Baer Holding AG in Zurich, a leading Swiss private bank, where he was Member of the Board and headed the bank's asset management and investment funds division. In the 1990s Veit was CEO of JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management in Luxembourg with in excess of €250 billion of assets under administration, where he was responsible for the funds business in Continental Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.

Daniel Mackelden
Partner
Daniel joined Maitland in 2010. He is a Partner of Maitland Advisory LLP. Originally a banking and finance lawyer he has spent the past few years working with various family offices and entrepreneurs - primarily on listings and ongoing corporate work. His current focus at Maitland is on providing group wide solutions to UHNW clients and institutions. In addition all sales, marketing and communications across the Maitland group report to him.

Grant Richardson
Head of Financial Control
Grant is Maitland's Group Financial Controller and oversees the finance function. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and trained at Deloitte & Touche (Financial Institutions) in Johannesburg. He spent six years in London working at investment banks including Credit Suisse, Citibank, ABN Amro and BNP Paribas specialising in the finance and accounting impacts of various new system and business development projects in both the equity and fixed income (and related derivative) markets. Grant also spent a period as the back office manager at a quantitative asset manager specialising in both passive and active global asset and currency allocation programmes.
He joined Maitland in 2005 where he has focused on more traditional financial management and strategy across all of Maitland’s businesses.
