About us

Maitland is a global advisory, administration and family office firm providing seamless multi-jurisdictional legal, tax, fiduciary, investment and fund administration services to private, corporate and institutional clients.

Our journey began in Luxembourg in 1976 with just two people and today we have 1,300 employees spread across 16 offices in 12 countries around the world.

In our early days we provided cross-border legal and tax advisory services to private and corporate clients. We grew rapidly and further expansion began in 1982 with the acquisition of a fiduciary business in Geneva. Driven by our clients’ needs, we continued to expand in Europe and internationally throughout the eighties and nineties. As the complexity of services grew, the firm was organised into legal advisory and trust & corporate services. In the early nineties, client demand grew for Maitland to provide wealth management services. Simultaneously, we found clients asked increasingly for fund services, such as structuring, reporting and administration services for investment funds and we developed our fund services business, which led to the acquisition of a dedicated fund services team in 2005. This evolved into a multi-jurisdictional business offering services to the full range of investment funds on appropriate best-of-breed systems.

In 2016 we repositioned our firm to provide services to our three client pillars: private, corporate and institutional clients. Led by CEO, Steve Georgala, who has been with Maitland for over 30 years, we now offer seamless multi-jurisdictional services through our network of experts across the world.
