Cheryl Howard has been appointed as Managing Director – Maitland Fiduciary Services.

Cheryl is a tax, accounting and fiduciary specialist who joined Maitland in October 2018 through the acquisition of her successful fiduciary business, Talaria Wealth.

Cheryl qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte where she was appointed as a tax manager in 1989 in their personal financial planning department. In 1991, Cheryl joined Grant Thornton, Kessel Feinstein to establish the personal financial planning department for their high net worth clients. In 1994, she joined BoE Private Bank as the general manager responsible for the Gauteng personal financial planning; taxation; fiduciary services; and wills and estates departments.

In 2000 Cheryl left BoE to set up her own practice, Talaria Wealth, and practised as such until the acquisition by Maitland in October 2018.

Cheryl currently serves as a council member of the Fiduciary Institute of Southern Africa (FISA).

Sarah Fry Group Company Secretary

Sarah joined Maitland in November 2018 as Group Company Secretary, based in the Isle of Man.

Sarah is a highly professional, experienced Chartered Secretary and Chartered Director with a strong corporate governance, compliance and financial background. She has led companies, based in the Isle of Man, as Managing Director across multiple jurisdictions.

Sarah is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA); a Fellow and Chartered Director of the Institute of Directors (IOD); and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD). She has a diploma in International Trust Management with distinction from the Society of Trusts & Estates Practitioners (STEP), as well as a Bachelor of Science (accounting and law) from De Montford University, UK.
