Jacolene joined Maitland in 2017 as a Manager – Specialised Services, and served as Senior Manager – Private Equity & Real Estate for two years before being named Head of Private Equity and Real Estate in 2020. In 2021 Jacolene relocated from South Africa to Luxembourg to continue to develop Maitland’s global Private Equity and Real Estate business.
Jacolene has 12 years’ experience in the financial services industry, both in South Africa and internationally. She was previously with KPMG where she worked as an audit manager in Cape Town and the Cayman Islands, with a focus on Private Equity and Real Estate, asset management and hedge fund clients.
Jacolene completed her articles at KPMG Cape Town and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in February 2012.
Jacolene is passionate about private equity, education and ESG and often combines these topics in the thought leadership articles she authors. In 2020, Jacolene initiated Maitland’s Private Equity & Real Estate Educational Series. This series aims to provide insight into the world of private equity by producing relevent content in collaboration with other service providers in the industry.
Most recently she has also taken part in the SAVCA Fund Manager Development Programme, providing training to first time Private Equity Managers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
